About WFF New Zealand
WFF New Zealand –
About Us & History
The World Fitness Federation (WFF) was founded in 1968 by Klaus Hoffmann in Lahnau, Germany, and is recognised as one of the world’s most established bodybuilding and fitness federations.
During the 1970s and 1980s, the WFF was primarily active across Northern and Eastern Europe. In the early 1990s, political changes across Europe allowed the federation to expand internationally, leading to steady global growth.
Throughout the late 1990s and early 2000s, the WFF worked closely with leading organisations worldwide, including the National Amateur
Body-Builders’ Association (NABBA). In 2009, following his election as NABBA International President, Graeme Lancefield continued to strengthen the relationship between NABBA and the WFF.
In 2013, after more than 40 years of leadership, Klaus Hoffmann passed the responsibility of guiding the federation to Graeme Lancefield. Since then, the WFF has continued to grow into a truly global organisation, with over 70 affiliated countries across Europe, Australasia, the Americas, and Africa.
